Gazipaşa is a typical small provincial town about half an hour drive from booming Alanya and about 180 km east of Antalya, capital of the Turkish Riviera.
The city’s main resources are the cultivation of fruit and vegetables. It is especially known for its banana plantations.
Why would you make this trip?
It is a unique opportunity to discover a Turkey at its most beautiful. As we travel in a region mostly untouched by tourism, we will hike through forests and mountains towards historical sites, seemingly forgotten in the middle of nature. Further, we explore the local life and values as we participate in the yearly migration of farmers and their lifestock between their seaside winter residences and the mountain plateaus where they spend the hot summer months. Several workshops give the opportunity to experience and learn their crafts, such as baking bread, spinning, cooking on an open fire, making yoghurt, ...
