The Taurus Residence House in Ormana neighborhood is considered as one of the most preserved villages in Turkey, located in the southwestern city of Antalya, at an altitude of 700 meters above the sea level, contains unique houses built from limestone, tar and juniper timber without using mortar or nails.
Button houses carry the traces of Ottoman architecture, as they are over 100 years old, and it is assumed that the local architecture was inherited from the Karamanids is considered as one of the most preserved villages in Turkey.
Taurus Residence is a privately owned local entity, seeks artists working in a diverse range of art–making including, painting, drawing, photography, video, sound, new media, sculpture, installation, and performance as well as writing. Professional artists of all disciplines can make use of the residencies of Taurus Residence during three weeks periods of stay or longer between April and November.
